Paradise Street Student Accommodation Case Study

Paradise Student Village is one of the largest student accommodation blocks in Coventry with a variety of amenities including indoor and outdoor social spaces, study rooms, a large gym, cinema room and 1040 ensuite rooms.

Working with the main contractor Galliford Try and student provider AXO, Wessex Furniture was contracted to design, manufacture and install bespoke bedroom and kitchen furniture for the Paradise Street accommodation block.

All this was achieved from our UK based 100,000 square foot, purpose-built furniture manufacturing facility.

We were able to accommodate a range of requests made by the customer AXO, in particular a unique colour scheme. Our team also created design solutions that meet accessibility requirements for specially adapted accessible rooms.

Room designs incorporate some interesting angles which we were able to incorporate into our furniture design as seen here with this desk that tapers into the return wall nicely and takes advantage of the alcove:

In total there are six room specifications at Paradise Street, each offering a slightly different amount of space and features. We were able to provide furniture designs, furnishings and appliances that helped AXO to market each room type effectively.

We were also able to offer innovative storage solutions for the students living in the accommodation particularly in the smaller room types.

To accomplish this our in-house design team worked with the client and we were able to offer a variety of colours and finishes to create that premium distinction.

Our installations at Paradise Street demonstrate our design and manufacturing flexibility well with such a variety of rooms and requirements asked of us.
