The Project: Wessex Furniture was appointed to design, manufacture, and install bespoke bedroom furniture for Scape Leeds, a £61 million student accommodation development on Merrion Street. Working in collaboration with with HG Construction and Scape, our team delivered high-quality, durable furniture solutions tailored to enhance both private and communal living spaces in this landmark project.

A New Benchmark for Student Living Scape Leeds redefines student accommodation with a focus on contemporary design, premium amenities, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Its prime location in the heart of Leeds ensures students are within walking distance of the University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, and the city’s renowned social and cultural hotspots.

The accommodation comprises of 692 bedrooms:

• A variety of living options, including en-suite rooms, standard, medium, and large studios, as well as shared apartments.
• Fully furnished spaces designed for comfort, study, and relaxation.
• State-of-the-art amenities, including a three-storey gym and yoga studio, cinema, rooftop terrace, and 24/7 reception services.

Bespoke Furniture Solutions by Wessex Furniture Our role in this project was to create and install a comprehensive furniture package that aligns with Scape’s commitment to high-quality, functional, and stylish student living spaces.

Tailored Bedroom Furniture: We provided a full suite of furniture for en-suite rooms, studios, and shared apartments, including fitted wardrobes, study desks, storage solutions, and durable double beds.

Optimised Design for Varied Room Types: Our team developed flexible furniture solutions to cater to different living arrangements, ensuring that each space is maximised for comfort and functionality.

Sustainable Manufacturing: In keeping with Wessex's dedication to environmental responsibility, all furniture was produced using sustainably certified materials and onsite generated electricity, contributing to the project’s ESG goals and achieving a Breeam Excellent rating.

Efficient Production & Installation: Manufactured at our UK-based 100,000 sq. ft. facility, we ensured a seamless delivery and installation process to meet the project’s demanding schedule.
