The Store House

The Project: Wessex Furniture was selected to design, manufacture, and install bespoke contract bedroom furniture for The Store House, a landmark PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) development on Briggate Street in Leeds. Working in partnership with Manner, and main contractor HG Construction, we play a key role in furnishing the 369 high-quality en-suite bed spaces that form part of this exciting scheme.

A Premium Student Living Experience The Store House, designed by Corstorphine & Wright Architects and backed by BlackRock, seamlessly integrates contemporary student living with the site’s historical significance. Situated in the heart of Leeds’ bustling retail and entertainment district, this development reimagines the student experience by offering a blend of high-specification living spaces and thoughtfully curated amenities.

The accommodation consists of:

• 370 en-suite bed spaces, comprising 167 cluster rooms and 203 studios.
• 527 sqm of amenity areas, designed to foster social interaction and enhance student well-being.

Bespoke Furniture Solutions by Wessex Furniture For The Store House, Wessex Furniture was tasked with delivering stylish yet durable furniture that would stand up to the demands of student living. Our team worked closely with Manner to develop a solution that combined aesthetic appeal with long-lasting performance.

High-Quality Bedroom Furniture: Each en-suite bedroom was fitted with robust yet contemporary furnishings, including custom-designed wardrobes, study desks, shelving units, and storage beds, maximising functionality and comfort.

Tailored Design for Cluster and Studio Living: The varying room layouts required adaptable furniture solutions that optimised space while maintaining a cohesive design language across the development.

Efficient Delivery & Installation: Leveraging our UK-based 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, we ensured seamless production, timely delivery, and expert installation of all furniture within the project timeline.

Enhancing the Student Experience Beyond just providing furniture, Wessex played a role in shaping the overall student experience at The Store House. Our storage solutions were thoughtfully integrated to cater to students’ needs, ensuring ample space for belongings even in compact rooms. The premium studio accommodations also benefited from upgraded furniture finishes, further distinguishing them as top-tier living spaces.
